Fall Boot Guide

Hello Fashionistas!!

The last days of Summer quickly crept upon me this year. I was still enjoying my Summer wear when all of a sudden a cold front hits. I'm so excited for the Autumn season. It's not only my favorite season, it's also the time where my style is at its peak. Autumn is the time when the weather is perfect, and I can wear some of my best outfits without having to cozy up in a coat (although I love coats), but my favorite part about Autumn is that I get to wear my favorite shoe ever: BOOTS!!!!!!! I love boots so much, from riding boots to combat boots, the versatility is endless. I've seen so many popular boot trends on the runway for the Fall 2014 season, and I've rounded up some of the best.

Over The Knee

Thigh-high boots add drama and makes your legs look miles long. Opt for a cute fold over boot that doubles as knee high to change up your style.

Booties

There are so many cute options for booties from basic to sky high platform. I'm really loving the peep-toe bootie and wedge bootie trends. Make your look really pop by choosing a bootie in a fierce snake or leopard print.

Riding

My personal favorite boots are riding boots. They're so comfortable, and they look amazing with almost everything. I really love them with sweaters. Choose a pair with eye catching details such as, chic buckles or zippers.

Combat

I didn't really like combat boots until last year, and the only colors that I find appealing are chestnut and cognac, but I have seen amazing looks paired with combat boots.

Stacked Heel

Stacked heel boots look amazing with anything from jeans to leggings, and they're easy to walk in all day long. So, they're perfect if you're a university student or the fashionista on the go. They come in many cute styles so, your options are endless.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you're having trouble viewing anything on this page, please check out my backup blog, I Am Fashion. Stay tuned for my Fall Look Book. Have a lovely day!!

Back to School Must Haves 2014 Edition

Hello Fashionistas!!

I hope everyone is doing well. I know I'm doing much, much better. I want to thank everyone for your well wishes. This post was originally supposed to go up before the Fall school semester started, so I'm happy that it's still early on in the semester. I've created a checklist of some of my favorite things that I think will contribute to a successful school year.

Binders/Notebooks

I think it's definitely important to have a different binder or notebook for each class. This may sound like a lot, but I've found great success when all of my classes are separated from one another. To make each class fun, I always buy cute folders. I'm a huge Hello Kitty and Lisa Frank fan.

Lisa Frank Folders, Walmart stores, .97 cents

Sticker Labels

when writing notes, label by sections or grouping. This makes it easier to find what you're looking for during study/test time. To keep it interesting, I use customized labels that I made myself.

Colorful labels, Target stores and Target, $1.00

Two Backpacks

Having two backpacks makes it easier to distinguish between my Mon,Wed,Fri classes and Tue,Thu classes. I also don't have to keep changing out my textbooks and notebooks or live in constant fear that I may forget something. I really love canvas backpacks. They're super cute, very spacious, and they come in a variety of colors and patterns.

Canvas Backpack, Amazon, $17.99 (not price may have changed)

Pencil Case

Having a pencil case makes it a lot easier to find your pens, pencils, and highlighters. You can even store your lip gloss or mascara inside them. They're slim, and they come in many cute prints.

Music pencil cases, CoolPencilCase, $18.45 ea.

Kindle

Often times, you may have maybe 15 or 20 minutes in between classes, and you definitely wouldn't want to go back to your dorm or apartment for that time. So, I love to sit under a tree or on a bench and read on my Kindle. I still have one of the older Kindles (Kindle One Touch) without the backlight because I only use my Kindle for reading books. The time really flies by when you're reading, and my next class starts before I know it.

Kindle One Touch, Amazon, price varies

Planners

I really love planners. I am an avid user of planners. I write everything in them because I am extremely forgetful. I actually have four planners. I use one for class, one for work/events/appointments, a separate blog planner and I also have a desk planner that I write everything in. By having my school and work separate, I feel that I am more organized, and I am able to find things in my calendar better. A dry-erase planner is also an excellent option.

Patterned weekly planner, Mochithings, $7.95

USB Light

I was so excited when I saw this bulb. It's perfect if you have a roommate ( or if you just want to conserve energy), and you need a few extra hours to study. It's a USB powered night light and it gives off a great shine.

USB FlexLight, ThinkGeek,$7.99

Water bottle/ blender bottle

When you're walking around a huge campus all day, staying hydrated is a must. Always carry a reusable water bottle with you. Also, if you're going to have a long day and won't be able to eat for a while, I recommend a protein shake. A blender bottle blends the shake really easily, and your hunger pains will be cured for a while. Plus you're getting protein.

Purity Glass Water Bottle, Contigo, $14.99
Blender bottle, The Vitamin Shoppe, $5.99

 Desk Organizer

A desk organizer will keep your desk items tidy and easy to find. You can opt for a basic desk organizer or one with a pattern.
CepPro gloss purple desk organizer, Urban Girl, $12.50

CepPro gloss purple magazine file, Urban Girl, $9.50

Cell phone holder

A desk cell phone holder is a must for me because I tend to lie my phone down, and then can't find it. Now, I always know that it will be on my desk in a cute little cell phone holder.

eForCity Plush Cell Phone Holder, Amazon, $5.99

Ribbon Hair Ties

On many occasions, I get really hot and I have to put my hair up, or on the days that I have a lab where I need to wear my hair up, it's really convenient to have a ribbon tie on my wrist. I also workout a lot, so I always have at least one ribbon tie with me. I've seen so many cute patterns and colors, and there are always new color palette sets made for each season.

Goody Ribbon Ties, Target, $4.99

Lens cleaning kits

Lens cloths and sprays are truly my best friends. I am totally blind without my glasses, and I don't wear contacts. I probably have to take 6 lens cloths plus the spray out with me daily because of my everyday mishaps.

Zeiss Lens Wipes, Walmart, $4.99

Ulta Butter Balm

I'm totally loving the Ulta Butter Balm. It's a lip gloss but it moisturizes and feels like a balm. There are so many pretty colors, and I don't have to constantly reapply even while the weather is this hot.

Ulta Butter Balm, Ulta, $8.00

Lap Desk

Sometimes your desk chair can be very uncomfortable, so a lap desk is perfect if you would like to study on your bed or in a comfortable recliner. They come in many different colors, patterns, and sizes. So, you can fit your textbooks, notebooks, or laptop on them.

Purple Lap desk, Best Buy, $19.99

I hope everyone enjoyed this post. If you're having trouble viewing anything on this page, please check out my backup blog, I Am Fashion. Please stay tuned for my next post. Thanks again for your well wishes. I really am doing so much better thanks to you all. Have a lovely day!!

The Liebster Award

Hello everyone!!

I'm finally back after two weeks. I had an unexpected surgery, but I can finally say I'm pain free. Thank you all for your well wishes. I didn't have a post planned for today until I was reading through my comments. I'm extremely excited because the awesome MADforbeauty has nominated me for the Liebster Award. Thank you so much, Maddie!!! So, I guess I'll hop right into things.

  • answer the questions that they send you
  • nominate up to 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers to answer your own set of 11 questions

MADforbeauty's Questions:

1. What inspired you to start blogging?

Being a biomedical engineering and biology double major, I wasn't allowed to take fashion courses even as an elective at any of the colleges I've attended, so I decided to create and follow blogs in order to get my daily fashion fill. :)

My skin is super sensitive, so I usually don't wear makeup, but the brands that breaks my skin out the least are Jordana and Pur Minerals.

      8. What is your favorite holiday?

Christmas!! I love spending time with my family and traveling.

      9. Coffee or tea?

Tea, but I prefer water to both lol

Becoming a cosmetic surgeon, so that I can help those with burns and children with cleft palates.

Summer Trends That Can Be Transitioned Into Fall

Hello Fashionistas!!!

I hope everyone is having a lovely week. Sorry I'm just now getting around to blogging. As I told you all, I'm moving this month, so it's been hectic trying to get everything packed up along with my internship and summer courses.

As we all know, Fall will be here before we know it, and many of us hate to give up our awesome summer trends, so I've rounded up the top Summer trends that will still be in and awesome for Fall. (I've linked where each item can be found below. Note that some items may be sold out.)

Summer Trends That Can Be Transitioned Into Fall

1. Pastels

Soft yellows, pinks, and blues are now year- round color staples and you can find them in almost anything whether it's coats, dresses, bags, or shoes.

Nasty Gal

2. Sneakers

From wedge sneakers to sporty, sneakers are here to stay. They're very versatile and extremely comfortable, and they're not just for the athletic fashionista.

3. Two-piece Sets

Two piece sets are all the rage this summer. Wear them with bare arms and sandals this season, and add a cozy sweater and tights in the Fall.

4. Oversized clutches

Oversized clutches have gained popularity the past few seasons, so this fall isn't any exception. If you don't have one in your closet, now is the time to get one.

5. Chiffon

Chiffon is always in. It's so lightweight and feminine. Layering it under a masculine coat or cardi in the Fall will turn heads.

6. Floral

Black accents are key to making bright florals perfect for Fall. Add a leather bomber and ankle booties for a Bad Girl vibe.

7. Skater Skirts

Mod is a huge trend for Fall. Transition the bare legs of Summer to Fall by adding opaque tights.

8. Geometric Prints

Don't be afraid to be wild and complex with your prints. By mixing and matching, you'll be a fashion forward pro for Fall.

What are some trends that you all plan to transition into Fall?

I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you're having trouble viewing anything on this page, please check out my back up blog, I Am Fashion. Thank you all for your lovely comments on my previous post. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Beauty Products That Should Be Refrigerated

Hello Fashionistas!!!

Sorry I haven't posted at all this week. I've been really busy at my internship, and I've felt terrible. I went to the doctor earlier, and I received my latest nerve block injection. I must say, I am feeling so much better. Thank you all for your well wishes.

I usually plan my posts out in my blog planner for the week, but since this week has been a little hectic, I didn't really have anything planned, but I really wanted to post something for you all. While doing some browsing of great things that I've tried that many people don't know about, I came up with, Beauty Products That You Should Keep Refrigerated. By keeping some products refrigerated, you will get the full effect and benefits of them, making a more beautiful and healthier you.

Beauty Products That You Should Keep In Your Refrigerator

1. Eye Cream or Gel

Many people wake up with puffy eyes due to fluid pulling into the under-eye area while you're sleeping, especially if you've had a salty dinner. While others, like me, suffer from seasonal or year round allergies. By storing your eye cream/gel in the refrigerator, you can deflate your under-eye bags more quickly in the morning. Cold constricts blood vessels, thereby reducing swelling.

2. Sunscreen

Post-summer if you have an unused or partially used bottle of cream or spray sunscreen, place it in the fridge. A warm environment lessens the effectiveness of the SPF so it won't protect your skin as well, if at all, the next time you use it.

3. Anti-Acne Products

Many dermatologist prescribed medications, such as Clindamycin and Tri-luma should be refrigerated. The formula won't be as effective is stored improperly.

4. Anti-Itch Cream

If you're suffering from an allergic reaction or a bug bite, the body can't sense itchiness and coldness at the same time, so if your skin is itching, apply a cold anti-itch cream to it. The cooling sensation will win out over the itching.

5. Nail Polish

Sunlight and heat can cause the formula of nail polishes to thicken and often times alter the color. By storing your polish in the fridge, the paint stays thin, and the true color is preserved.

6. Fragrance

If your fragrance is exposed to too much light and heat, the chemicals will start to break down altering the smell.

7. Liquid Makeup

This includes everything from foundation to liquid liner. Once the products are opened, they all have an expiration date. To make them last longer, store them in the fridge. This also applies to products that are unopened.

8.Lipstick

Your everyday lipstick doesn't need to be stored, but if your favorite products is being discontinued and you want to stock up, they'll last a lot longer if stored in the fridge. Otherwise, heat could cause the chemicals to break down and decompose over time, altering the shade of the lipstick.

9.Natural/Organic Products

Since organic products don't contain parabens, preservatives, sulfates, and other harsh chemicals that make other products last longer, natural products must be stored in the fridge so that they don't spoil. This lengthens their shelf life and keeps bacteria from building up.

Did you ladies already know these beauty tips? Which products do you store in your refrigerator?

I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you're having trouble viewing anything on this page, please check out my backup blog, I Am Fashion. I hope you all have a lovely day.
